By accepting and submitting this licence, you (the author(s) or copyright owner) grant the University of Zululand (UNIZULU)  the non-exclusive right to reproduce, translate (as defined below), and/or distribute your submission (including the abstract) worldwide in print and electronic format, and in any medium, including but not limited to digital, audio, and video. 

You agree that UNIZULU may, without altering the content, translate the submission into any medium or format for the purposes of preservation, access, and long-term archiving. 1. Retention of Copyright 

Copyright in the submission remains with the author(s) or copyright owner(s). 
Nothing in this licence constitutes a transfer or assignment of copyright to UNIZULU. 

 

2. Preservation and Format Migration 

You agree that UNIZULU may, without altering the intellectual content, translate the submission into any medium or format for the purposes of preservation, accessibility, security, and long-term digital archiving. 
UNIZULU may retain more than one copy of the submission for backup, security, and preservation purposes. 

For the purposes of this licence, �translation� refers solely to technical format migration and does not include translation of the content into another language. 

 

3. Author Representations and Warranties 

You represent and warrant that:

Where the submission is based on work sponsored or supported by an external funder or organisation, you have complied with all applicable contractual, legal, and ethical obligations, including requirements for acknowledgement, disclosure, or embargo. 

 

4. Attribution and Integrity of the Work 

UNIZULU undertakes to: 

Clearly identify the author(s) or copyright owner(s) of the submission. 

Not alter the intellectual content of the submission, except as permitted under this licence for preservation and technical purposes. 

 

5. Takedown and Access Restriction 

UNIZULU reserves the right to remove or restrict access to the submission, in whole or in part, if: 

the submission is found to infringe copyright or other legal rights. 

the submission violates legal, ethical, or institutional policies; or 

a substantiated legal or regulatory complaint is received. 

Where reasonably practicable, the author(s) will be notified of such action. 

 

6. Limitation of Liability 

UNIZULU shall not be held liable for any misuse of the submission by third parties or for any infringement arising from the content of the submission. Responsibility for the content remains with the author(s) or copyright owner(s).
