Biography: Dr Gqibitole attended the former Griffiths Mxenge College of Education, where he obtained a Senior Teachers’ Diploma with majors in English and History. He later enrolled at the then University of Natal (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal), completing a PhD in English Studies. He has written several radio plays and is the author of the novel Tutaishi: The African Tale (2005). His short story publications include Fresh Scars (Kwela Books, 2004) and My Blood is Red Too (Short Story Review of South Africa, 2005). His later works include three short stories“Pain,” “Voiceless,” and “Dark Light”—published in Is My Body Not Strong Enough? Pan-African Writings and Artworks (Layla Cassim ERS Consultants CC & Redcord (Pty) Ltd., 2022).
