- Despite high hopes that schools are institutions of integrity and are properly governed, very few have demonstrated this with distinction. With this article we argue that good governance depends on the partnership between schools and parents in times of emergency. The theoretical framework from Epstein’s theory of overlapping spheres of influence was used to alarm stakeholders to guard against overlapping one’s roles during an emergency. In the study reported on here we used a qualitative research method, which allows data to be collected using semi-structured interviews and focus-group discussions as research instruments. The data were collected from stakeholders of school governing bodies (SGBs) and school management teams (SMTs) through WhatsApp and Zoom meetings. Thematic analysis was used to analyse qualitative data. The research findings reveal, among other problems, that most parents are digital immigrants who refuse to participate in virtual platforms for fear of endorsing remote learning, and that poor teaching and learning is due to a lack of access to digital technology, data, and poor connectivity. We recommend that parents should support remote learning for learners to achieve quality education beyond the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

- 2023| Center for Strategic...The attitude that employees have towards their job is well believed to have an influence on their performance. This study investigated the influence of job satisfaction on employees' performance. Herzberg's two-factor hygiene and motivation theory was used to explain employees' motivation for best performance. A cross-sectional survey design in the form of a structured questionnaire was used to randomly sample one hundred (100) employees of the University of Zululand, South Africa. Descriptive and correlation analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The findings indicate that job satisfaction does not influence employees' performance. The study concludes that UNIZULU employees enjoy their roles despite the unsatisfactory benefits attached. In spite of the unsatisfactory level of benefits, they perform their duties effortlessly. This research contributes to research-based knowledge that will assist universities' management in identifying the factors that will enhance employees' performance.

- Stakeholders in education must understand the relationship between students’ mathematical performance and their mathematical skills in order to develop a more effective mathematics curriculum and education. It is on this basis that this study examined mathematical skills as a predictor of students’ performance in secondary school mathematics in Ogun State, Nigeria. The survey design used for this study was descriptive. The population of this study consisted of all Senior Secondary School Two (SSS2) students in Ogun State. Four hundred eighty (480) secondary school students from the SSS2 class comprised the study sample. In this study, simple random and purposeful sampling methods were used. Purposive sampling technique was used to select twelve (12) schools among secondary schools in OgunState, while the simple random sampling technique was used to select forty (40) respondents from each school. For this study, two research questions were used. The instruments used for data collection are: Mathematics Performance Test (r= 0.762); Numerical Skills Test (r = 0.86); Spatial Reasoning Test (r = 0.78); and Problem-solving Style Questionnaire (r = 0.82). The results showed a significant positive relationship between mathematical skills and students’ performance in mathematics. The correlation of independent variables in relation to the performance of students in mathematics is as follows: Numerical skills(r=0.122,p<0.05);Spatial skills(r=0.182,p<0.05);and Problem-solving skills (r=0.139,p<0.05) respectively. It was further revealed that mathematical skills relatively contributed to students’ academic performance in mathematics. It was then concluded that mathematical skills are an important factor that enhances students’ performance in mathematics.

- Makhanda Municipality, in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, faces difficulties such as service delivery failures, infrastructure deficiencies, and government inefficiencies. This paper aims to assess the applicability and efficacy of Lewin's model in promoting organisational change and improving performance in this particular Municipality. This paper used VOSviewer's bibliometric analysis to synthesise 36 current literature and pinpoint important trends, seminal research, and knowledge gaps about change management. The findings show that Lewin's model, which includes unfreezing, change, and refreezing phases, provides a systematic framework that, when applied in Makhanda, can greatly improve stakeholder engagement and organisational adaptability. The paper's novelty stems from its adaptation of a traditional change model to a modern municipal environment, which provides valuable insights into local governance. To improve the transformation process, recommendations include tailoring training programs for local officials and establishing a feedback mechanism. This paper concludes that effective change management is critical for enhancing public service outcomes, and Makhanda Municipality will greatly benefit from the application of the Model.

- 2025| Innovative Research ...Economics is a vital subject within the South African curriculum, aimed at equipping learners with critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of economic systems and financial decision-making. However, learner performance in Economics, particularly in Grade 12, remains inconsistent and often poor. This study explores the factors influencing learners’ academic performance in Economics within the Mandeni Circuit of the iLembe District in South Africa. The qualitative method of research was employed, primarily through one-on-one interviews and group discussions with teachers from eight schools in other to provide deep insights into various factors that influence learners’ performance. Findings such as curriculum alignment and quality, accessibility to education, the impact of educational policies, technological integration, time management in curriculum delivery, and socio-economic challenges were revealed as factors contributing to the decline in Grade-12 Economics performance. The study recommends the stakeholders to address socio-economic barriers, improve access to teaching and learning resources, enhance learner engagement and support as well as review the curriculum to allow for deeper conceptual understanding of the subject.
